Preah Dak is a traditional village and we will travel through it when we go to visit Banteay Samre, the 12th century Angkor Wat styled temple. The temple was built by king Suryavarman II, the genius behind AngkorWat. This temple has been extensively restored. If we travel further north, we will reach Banteay Srei, Angkor’s ultimate art gallery. This beautiful pink temple is a fine jewel in the crown of Angkor Era sculpture. The elaborate carvings here are the finest found in Cambodia and the name translate as ‘Fortress of the Women’ because the intricate detail here was considered too fine for the hands of man.
Preah Dak village is the typical Cambodian traditional village. You will be able to discover how Cambodian people do for life. Their main occupations are sugar palm production, Cambodian white noodle production and rice field harvesting.
