How to enter Cambodia? Entering Cambodia may be made by many methods. Cambodia consists of two international arrival gateways by air, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. There are many selection of land borders with neighborhood Thailand, Vietnam, and Laos. Cambodia’s international airports’ formalities are normally smoother than land borders because of the volume of traffic is greater. Crossing at land borders is quite easy, but immigration officers may try to plot you some extra cash, either for your visa or by some ways of scam.

By Overland and River Border
Cambodia shares eight border crossing points with Vietnam, six with Thailand and and one with Laos.
Cambodian and Vietnam share a long frontier with a bevy of border crossings. Foreigners are currently permitted to cross at 8pm and there are new crossings opening every year.
Bavet / Moc Bai
This is the biggest official border between Cambodia and Vietnam, It takes about 5 hours to travel from Bavet to Phnom Penh and Visa upon arrival is available.
Kaam Samnor / Chau Doc
This is an official Mekong River border. It is becoming the popular gateway for tourists who wish to come to Cambodia from Vietnam by boat or ferry. It takes around 6 hours to reach Phnom Penh Port.
Phnom Den, Takeo / Tinh Bien
It is good for those who prefer to visit Sihanoukville and Kampot rather than Phnom Penh or Siem Reap. Tourist Visa upon arrival is available.
Prek Chak, KEP / Xa Xia
This border crossing connects Kep and Kampot with Mekong Delta town of Ha Tien. This crossing offers the prospect of linking the Cambodian coast with beautiful Vietnamese island of Phu Quoc, formerly is the Cambodian island of Koh Trol.
Oyadaw, Rattanakiri / Le Tanh
It offer connections between Ban Lung and Pleiku. It is about 25km from the border to Ban Lung City. Tourist Visa upon arrival is available.
Trapaeng Plong, Kompong Cham / Xa Mat
Xa Mat Crossings could be useful for those planning to visit Cao Dai temple traveling to or from Ho Chi Minh City.
Trapaeng Sre, Kompong Cham / Loc Ninh
Khanh Binh / Banteay Chakrey
Total border of Cambodia and Thailand is 805km long. There are six legal international border crossing and many options for locals. Land borders with Thailand opens daily from 7am to 8pm.
Poipet / Aranyaprathet
This official land border is suitable for tourists who wish to visit Siem Reap and Battambong. it takes about 5 hours by bus or taxi to get Siem Reap. Road condition from Poipet to Siem Reap is quite good.
Cham Yeam-Koh Kong / Hat Lek
This official overland border is suitable for tourist who wish to visit Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville. The tourist could go to Sihanoukville by boat which depart every morning at 8:00 am.
O’Smach / Chong Jom
This official overland border is in Oddor Meanchey, a remote province, where tourist could obtain their Visa upon arrival at the check points. Fewer tourists enter Cambodia by this check point.
Anlong Veng / Choam-Choam Srawngam
The remote border which was a former Khmer rouge resident located and the last district to reunite after a long civil war in Cambodia. Tourists pass this border mostly from Sisaket, Thailand. Visa upon arrival is available as well.
Psar Pruhm, Pailin / Ban Pakard
This border is about 22km northwest of Pailin and 120km southwest of Battambang.
There is only one border crossing between Cambodia and Laos open to foreigners.
Dong Kralor / Voeun Kham
Tourist Visa is available upon arrival. From the border, you could choose 3 different styles of Cambodia, Capital city of Phnom Penh, Heritage Angkor Siem Reap and Tribal Hills (Mondolkiri and Rattanakiri).
