Baphuon temple is a three-tiered temple mountain in Angkor Thom City, north-west of the Bayon. It was Built in mid-11th century. It was built by king Udayadityavarman II in order to dedicate to Hindu God, Shiva. In the late 15th century, the Baphuon was converted to a Buddhist temple. The temple’s architecture is quite impressive.
In 20th century, the temple was heavily ruined and the restoration has been started. The archaeologists finished the restoration of the temple in April 2011, after 51 years.
